Adelaide Shores

The Adelaide Shores Football Centre is a $2.6m venue developed through a joint partnership between State and Federal Governments, Adelaide Shores, Green Play Australia and Football Federation of South Australia.

After 6 months of construction, the Adelaide Shores Football Centre was officially opened in January 2014.

The project evolved from being a modest change room block at Barrett Reserve to providing Adelaide with its first synthetic two star rated football pitch, with support from the Office for Recreation, Sport and Racing, the Federal Government combined with both the Football Federation SA and Adelaide Shores.
The venue has hosted all forms of football from semi professional and amateur men, the Westfield W-League, Women's competitions and children of all ages.

In the facility's first four months of operation it is estimated that:

  • Over 5,000 players have played on the surface
  • There have been in excess of 140 games played
  • And there have been over 200 training sessions.

The Adelaide Shores Football Centre offers:

  • change facilities
  • kiosk
  • a small meeting area
  • spectator seating
  • undercover areas.

The new facilities also provide greater capacity, so that more people can participate in sports like lacrosse, rugby (including touch) and football, and will be suitable for hosting significant tournaments.
